Meet

Black Betty’

This 2013 Camaro ZL1 Hennessey Edition is number 1 of 6 Hennessey Camaros Convertibles built in 2013, and currently the only known in Ontario.

Nicknamed 'Black Betty' by its current owner, (you’re singing it aren’t you?) this 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible 6.2L TTL Hennessey Edition has 25,000 kilometers and is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine outfitted with an upgraded LS9 supercharger CNC Stage 3 ported cylinder heads, HPE air-induction system, custom HPE camshaft and stainless-steel headers mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

A Hennessey-modified 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with the HPE700 package delivers a significant power boost, reaching 700 horsepower. This upgrade includes a supercharger, upgraded fuel system, and other performance enhancements. The 2013 Camaro ZL1, with its stock 580 horsepower, can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 198 mph. The HPE700 package further enhances these figures.

Let us help you with the math;

that’s 735.05 HP with 706.22 lb-ft torque at 7500 rpm

Dino’d at a respectable 346.54 kph (215.33 mph)

Here's a more detailed look at the Hennessey HPE700 Package and the resulting performance:

  1. Supercharger Upgrade: The HPE700 package features a high-flow supercharger to increase power output.

  2. Fuel System: The upgrade includes an auxiliary fuel system to support the increased power demand.

  3. Engine Management: The package includes HPE engine management calibration and chassis dyno tuning for optimal performance.

  4. Other Upgrades: The package also includes upgrades like ported cylinder heads, upgraded valve springs and retainers, upgraded lifters and push rods, and long-tube stainless steel headers. It's equipped with high-flow catalytic converters, upgraded Hennessey lower pulley, upgraded intercooler heat exchange, upgraded fuel system, 160-degree thermostat and Eibach Pro Performance springs. A select offering from a private collection.

  5. Stopping power is provided by a Brembo big brake kit, including 6-piston front and 4-piston rear custom blue Voodoo calipers. This Camaro is presented in black with Hennessey custom badging over a black interior with custom embroidery.

Map showing a detailed route across the United States from Houston, Texas, through Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Illinois, Chicago, and finally to Oshawa, Ontario, with stops at a performance venue, a mission parkway, and assembly points.

How’d it get here?

Built in the GM Oshawa Car Assembly plant in Ontario, Canada, the original owner from the same province actually sought out and purchased this vehicle in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

They did this in an attempt to save freight and shipping charges knowing it would need to be shipped to Sealy, TX, USA for the Hennessey Performance package build .

Upon completion, it was then shipped back to it’s new owner in Ontario, Canada.

That’s a round trip of 5,865 km before it was ever driven! (track testing excluded, obviously)
